Sometimes things DO go right

On a beautiful (Not rainy) Saturday in August we hosted a well executed Action Pistol event. We arrived at 8am to find Jeff putting the finishing touches on a great 5 stage match. We had 19 shooters arrive and ran 2 squads. First shots commenced at 9am.

Group Two started on of Stage "3 boxes". This was a hit at our last Action Pistol event. It's non-typical and looks very unimpressive. Then you go through it and your mind is changed entirely. The shooter starts in the furthest back box. This box is 21 yards from the targets. Three shots are placed on each target. Then dart to the second box and place two shots on each target, then mad dash (with your finger off the trigger and firearm carefully directed to the burn) to the closed box and place one round in each of the targets. Virginia count designates that you cannot fire any make up shots. Great round to start getting the blood flowing. Somehow I failed to engage on one of the targets, this hurt in the points department. Other than that, I had all shots on target. And being this is my first competition with iron sights, I'm very happy.

Shortly after we had the long awaited debut of the Holy Monkey. This wildly unpredictable target showed its face in the Monkey Business Stage. Here we have a mixture of steel and cardboard all shot from a shooters box in the corner of the range. The activator gets hit and the Holy Monkey starts to dance from behind its cover of barrels. Sometimes it goes high, sometimes it goes low and it always goes hiding shortly after making its appearance. This was riot. There was a ton of ammunition sent into the berm on this stage very few Alphas in the Monkey. There was talk about trying to slow the Monkey down prior to using it in another event.... but nah.... The aggravation is half the fun.

Cheshire County Action Pistol does have a YOUTUBE page which does show us running the

stages if you would like to see them. They were all amazing. The were all very intricately set up

and a pleasure to blaze through. Jeff and all the volunteers out did themselves once again. I cannot wait until September 3rd to do it all over gain.
