2023 Action Pistol is off to a GREAT start.

We are off to a GREAT start this year. Our May 27th Steel Challenge match boasted a new record for participants in regards to Cheshire County Action Pistol matches. 74 shooters came out on a beautiful 80 degree Saturday to show their talent and love for shooting sports. The volunteers did a great job all day Friday setting up eight stages of shooting steel and when the event started, so did the fun.

I was lucky enough to be squadded with a couple of the gentlemen from Matrix Arms out of Claremont, New Hampshire. Last year they visited us with their new MX19 and we had a stage set where all the competitors used that firearm to clear the steel. Moments after my wife finished ejecting brass, we had a new MX19 on order. This year Alan brought his new MX34 prototype. I didn't have the opportunity to run this one but man it has eyes. Alan is a hard man to keep up with when he has that steel framed piece of artwork in his hands. Beyond being a local business and crew of great personalities, these folks can really put lead on steel. The combination of a phenomenal firearm in the hands of a extremely talented shooters makes for a very entertaining day.

Coming up next weekend we have a great Action Pistol Match set up for CCSSEF. Spots are still available at the time of this writing and, of course, volunteers are always welcome. Jeff has sent me a few of the stage setups that we have to look forward to and it appears that he has a sick sense of humor. I mean, who surrounds a Texas Star with so many No-Shoots and poppers?
