We flirted with the idea of going PCSL all winter. Mid January we purchased the PCSL targets and familiarized ourselves with the subtle differences of this versus USPSA. To a non-professional, hobby shooter like myself; PCSL is essentially the same "Go Fast and Accurate" that we have always strived for. The scoring is a little different with a K-zone that counts as two alphas with only one shot. Some of the other rules are a little different but at the heart of the sport it is still the shortest time with the best shots wins.

April 13th, 2024 rolls around and Cheshire County Action Pistol holds our first PCSL match with 51 shooters arriving at our humble stomping grounds in Keene, New Hampshire. And these competitors came to shoot. The weather forecast had a splash of rain which probably kept some of the smarter folks home. But the diehards who had been itching for a match all winter came out to play. And we had some amazing shooters in the roster. These guys were fast. It is amazing to see some of these characters who can blast through a stage putting two bullets in the A-Zone and they can do it faster than I could with out a pistol at all. It shows how much time and dedication they have put into their passion. Some of these guys are putting 25 +/- shots down range (accurately) while running in 15 seconds. It's amazing.

Dan, Jeff and countless volunteers have put a ton of time and effort into making this a success. Their efforts resulted in six super intricate stages. Poppers, swingers, drop-turns, a Holy Monkey and a black 2002 Saturn coupe made for lots of smiles and some profanity. First shots sang at about 9.30 and the last targets fell at 2.30. It was a massive success. Everybody we spoke with ranted over how well the crew put together the match and how much they look forward to coming back.

The next match at CCSSEF is the Steel Challenge Match on April 27th. Then PCSL 1 Gun is back on May 4th.

See you all soon.
